“I just returned from a stay at Pirn Mill with my family and the whole trip has been faultless.
Pre arrival the communication was excellent especially given the prior uncertainty regarding travel restrictions.
Everything is thought of at Pirn Mill. On arrival we received a welcome pack with some essentials, a fresh loaf of bread, milk etc. This really helped to make the cottage feel like a home away from home. Everyone felt instantly relaxed inside and the glorious views helped that feeling continue throughout our stay.
The standard of furnishing is very high throughout and it was a delight to stay somewhere with high quality pillows and bedding, it makes such a difference. The bedrooms are very spacious and the views from the velux windows upstairs are something else.
The kitchen is very well equipped with plenty of options for crockery and pans etc. It’s a lovely touch having the basics in the cupboards and really makes a difference in self catering accommodation.
My daughter enjoyed using the massive bath. Perfect spot for a splash around or a relaxing glass of wine and a book.
Visiting the farm next door is highly recommended. Meeting the staff and learning about the animals and area was a fantastic experience for our whole family, young and old.
All in all Pirn Mill and Cladich are a perfect slice of the Argyll countryside and really set the bar high in all they do. A great location, house and family that everyone should have the pleasure of visiting. Highly recommend.”

Myself and my parents stayed at Pirn Mill for a few days at the end of April. The cottage is in a stunning location with wonderful views and Loch Awe just on your doorstep. The inside of the cottage is wonderful with big but cosy, fully furnished bedrooms alongside a fully equipped kitchen. On arrival we were pleasantly surprised to find freshly baked bread for us as well as a selection of teas and coffees. Right outside the cottage is a perfect seating area to have your morning coffee with a lovely view. In the evening firewood was provided to have a fire which we did while the sun set, and it was a wonderful night.

The Cladich farm tour is a great activity for people of any ages! Being able to see and pet the amazing Highland cows was a highlight! During our stay there were many baby calf’s as well as baby sheep which were great to see.

The drive to Oban is only around 40 minutes and makes a wonderful day trip to enjoy some nice food and views of the Hebrides. Drives/walks along Loch Awe were another beautiful addition with sunsets over the hills in the background being my personal favourite to view!

Highly recommend this cottage, it has plenty to see and do in the area and is a great escape from busy city life!

"We just spent half a week in Pirnmill Cottage over half term and this [very] recently renovated cottage is spectacular in so many ways. For starters the rooms: the cottage has two large rooms. The upstairs room is extremely large yet very warm and cozy. It is perfectly appointed for up to 3 kids, where they have three very comfy beds, a sofa, puffs, games and a tv. The upstairs is connected by a spiral staircase from the living area and it is just absolutely perfect for kids looking for a super cool place to call their own. Our 6 year old was ecstatic! The master bedroom is also very spacious, extremely comfortable and clean/new bedding, and connected to the large master bathroom with a jumbo-sized claw footed bath tub and corner shower. With all the new fixtures and abundant toiletries, it just felt luxurious.

The kitchen is very well appointed, all brand new appliances and uniquely, many cleaning supplies available. The cooking equipment, again, all new and plentiful, including plenty of coffee pods for the coffee maker. The living area was also well thought out and we arrived to find fruit and welcome hamper on the dining table. As it was Halloween, our son was also delighted to find a carving pumpkin with a personalised note on it. All these special touches made the cottage a spectacular place to stay - we only wish we would’ve booked for much longer.

If the cottage was perfect, than the farm can only be described as idyllic. It is a working farm with award winning highland cows and several sheep. These animals are friendly and we opted to take a farm tour, which brought us very up close to a gorgeous bull called Curly. We were at first intimidated but soon we were happily brushing his long fur and hanging out with a few 7 month old “babies”. Again, all very personalised, with delightful touches like a special ATV and tractor ride for our son.

The surrounding areas include Inveraray jail and castle, salmon fisheries (were you can take fly fishing lessons), walks along Loch Awe and nearby Oban for amazing seafood, etc. Etc. The area merits at a minimum an entire week for exploration.

"Absolutely stunning (next to highland cattle farm!)
This place is spotlessly clean, the room is spacious and very comfortable! Next to river flowing, in-house WiFi is perfect, breakfast is excellent. The highlight of our trip is it’s next to Cladich highland cattle farm. Our visit is the highlight of our whole trip. We didn’t make appointment but our host kindly arranged it for us even though it’s last minute notice. At the tour, it was perfect. We have the opportunity to learn more about the cattle, take beautiful pictures with them plus able to get close to stroke them!! This place is perfect for family with children :)

This place is a gem! Our host and hostess are very kind and helpful. Stuart from Cladich highland cattle farm is also very helpful. Thank you for hosting us. Please keep doing what you guys are doing. :)"

"Beautiful clean room, extremely comfortable bed, plenty of hanging space and lovely bathroom. We felt very comfortable and safe with their hygiene guidance too. We were only briefly staying but the hosts could not have been more welcoming. We even got sausage sandwiches as we were leaving so early the next morning. Would love to actually spend more time there! Highly recommend"

"Nice quiet location close to Loch Awe. A lovely room and ensuite, perfect for our stay on 19.9.20. Very comfortable bed and a great shower. Scottish goodie bag was thoughtful and a nice touch. Owner couldn't have made us feel more welcome. Felt safe too as all necessary precautions taken in regard to Covid. Breakfast times staggered which allowed us a nice early breakfast at 7am which was ideal as we wanted to get an early start on our planned hill walking. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful and included home made bread. Would happily stay here again if in the area and would recommend to others."
